Course Highlights A one day, hands-on workshop on fresh cadavers with tutorials, lectures and demonstrations. Faculty includes a mix of orthopods, hand surgeons and plastic surgeons with interactive sessions during the demonstration surgeries.
Course Objectives

  • Teach basic surgical approaches for various techniques by hands-on dissection to young orthopaedic trainee/practitioners.
  • Refresh the knowledge/skills of common and difficult surgical approaches especially Acetabulum and revision hip surgeries for practicing Orthopaedic surgeons. 
  • To provide knowledge of Orthopaedic anatomy and develop dissection skills of proper handling of soft tissues.
  • This course is planned to extend the horizon of Orthopaedic Surgeon for performing difficult Orthopaedic surgeries even at an individual and small set-up level. 
  • The newer approaches are also included.
  • Guidance as regards complications with respect to and Neurovascular structures.  
  • Regions covered-hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle and spine
  • Approaches are meant for simple trauma and difficult surgeries including tumors, joint stiffness, replacement, and Arthrolysis.

Course USP Simulation of OT environment, direct interaction with esteemed faculty, fresh cadavers which are prepared in advance, more hands-on experience, build up additional knowledge and confidence of surgeons, newer approaches, extension of surgical approaches.
Format and Pattern
  • 8-10 cadaveric dissection tables.
  • Group of 4 will be given an opportunity to practice on cadavers.
  • 4 sessions to demonstrate approaches on acetabulum, hip, pelvis, knee foot, ankle and important lower extremity approaches demonstration as requested by delegates.
  • 4 sessions to demonstrate approaches on spine, shoulder, scapula, elbow, hand, other important approaches demonstration as requested by delegates.
  • Approaches demonstration by eminent faculties.
  • Interactive session and group discussion with eminent faculties.
