Thesis writing for PGs in health sciences was organised for the first time by BOS. It was held at R. N. Cooper Hospital, Juhu on November 12, 2017. 38 participants enrolled. Most of them were from DNB stream; MS / MD students were in low number as they receive instructions of such nature in their colleges affiliated to MUHS, Nashik. 7 participants were from other states. The list of the faculty and their topics they dealt is as below:
Dr. A. J. Thakur: Induction to thesis writing and formulating a research question, Structure of a thesis for MS & DNB-what to write and how – Part 1and 2, and Hands-on exercises in medical writing
Dr. Ashok Shyam: Literature search on the web and library
Dr. Vijay D. Joshi (Anatomist): Reference in thesis, Ethical issues in research
Dr. Madhav Prasad (Gynaecologist): Figures in thesis writing
Dr. Lance Pinto (Respiratory physician): Handling data and statistics in thesis writing. Feedback forms show that the course was helpful to the attending PGs in DNB stream; a majority indicated that the cause should be continued in the coming years.
